This is the story of Ash Ketchum. Who in case you didn't know. (Hopefully you all do) Is the star of Pokemon. This is the beginning of a 4 part series where ash befriends a pikachu that he finds in his walls.  (There growing of friendship is quite interesting to say the least.)  After that, he sets out on his journey to become the Greatest Pokemon Master of ALL TIME!

Art:
The Art in the book is quite good.  Toshihiro Ono has done an excellent job.  Everywhere from the pokemon attacks to environments.  Although some of the pictures have characters with demented looking eyeballs. (If you've read it you know what I mean.)  And some of the pictures look like they were printed with a dot-matrix printer.  But that isn't his fault.  Over all, I give it a 4 of 5

Story
Well, of course, this is Pokemon.  So the story is pretty strait forward.  But he takes the story from the first episode and changes it around a little.  Instead of getting a Pokemon from Professor Oak, he finds a pikachu in his house.  And of course Misty still gets her bike stolen.  I don't want to ruin the story for you but if you've seen the first episode of Pokemon then you've seen this.  But it's still worth getting. I give it a 2 of 5
